Raising a child can be incredibly rewarding, parenting can also be very challenging, overwhelming and full of uncertainty.
This is indeed the case for parents and caregivers that are trying to manage a child that refuses to do what they are told. They may become aggressive with siblings and/or cannot tolerate being told “no.” Similarly, parents are often unsure how to support their child that has fears and worries, doesn’t like school or has difficulty making friends. And the list goes on.
There are many behaviours that are commonly experienced by families, which can result in the caregivers feeling confused, stressed and exhausted. Often times, these same caregivers will acknowledge that they have tried everything, nothing seems to work, and they don’t know what else to try.
When a child is misbehaving, relationships within the whole family are affected. Parents are often saddened by the circumstances, their anger and frustration about the situation has impacted their ability to enjoy their little one(s).
